THE MYSTERY OF MONOGRAMS
Bailey Rivera, Instructor

Who doesn't love a monogram? You know when they're even better? When it's designed for you, by you! This class demystifies the process of designing monograms, using a step-by-step method for creating a balanced and beautiful 3 letter design. Whether your style is traditional, modern, flourish-y or somewhere in between, you’ll come away with a design (or 5) that you’ll want to put on EVERYTHING.

Designing monograms can be a bit of a mystery but learning this tried and true method will help you to have the confidence to create them all by yourself!  We will walk through each step in class, spending time discussing and demoing the process in details. You will be guided along with your own design as we build the artwork week by week. In the end, you’ll have a finished monogram design of your own to be proud of!

Monograms are often a desired design element in wedding suites as well as branding packages so being able to offer this service can help grow your business and clientele. Over the years, I’ve done many designs that have been used from invitations to dance floors to store signage and everywhere in between. The amazing part of monograms is their versatility!

About Bailey

Bailey Amon Rivera is a professional calligrapher and designer residing in Littleton, Colorado.

Rivera is co-founder of Antiquaria, a high end stationery company and design studio, opened in 2010. Through her work with the company, she is able to design lettering of varying styles for their popular line of greeting cards and notebooks sold in stores worldwide.  Whether using traditional pointed pen, hand lettering (also known as drawn lettering) or brush lettering, her personal style shines through in each project.

Since starting her calligraphy practice in 2009, she has extensively studied many different calligraphy styles, both pointed pen and broad edge. She has trained with some of the most renowned calligraphers, including, Master Penman Harvest Crittenden, Master Penman Jake Weidmann, Master Penman Rosemary Buczek, Michael Ward, Denis Brown, Sharon Zeugin, Yves Leterme, as well as many others.

Because of the diversity of her training, and her continuous study of traditional script calligraphy and penmanship, Bailey's professional lettering work is distinctive and unique.
