ROMAN CAPITALS FOR BEGINNERS
with Gemma Black
Roman Capitals form the basis for the western alphabet as we know it today. By the first century of the common era the evolutionary route for our prime letters came from the GrekoRoman forms. Before that there was a three thousand year evolutionary process from cave paintings, pictograms, cuneiform in various parts of the world.

This course will take it beginning from the Trajan Inscription. I will guide the participant through early pencil work, construction of the penned Roman Capital and leave you with a very sound foundation and a variety of styles to use as a springboard for future works.
