Joy Daniels, Instructor

REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.

This class offers a chance to explore the square method of constructing Celtic Knot designs. With a few simple rules and a square grid, you will discover how to construct the simplest knot and then build on this to make more complicated patterns. Once this is understood, you will have the means to design your own knotwork patterns.

Use these patterns to enhance your calligraphy, to make cards, stencils, lino cuts, embroidery, knitting etc., or just on their own as  beautiful designs.

We will be building on the skills learned in the first session  and move on to the different methods needed for Triangular and Circular Knot patterns. For this part you will need a pair of compasses and a protractor in addition to the previous list of materials. We will be using some very basic geometry but don’t be put off – it’s not scary!
