A perfect companion to Skyler's class on Acanthus Leaves & Scrolls! In this class, we will walk through a classic style of decorated script. Script lettering decorated with leaf ornamentation goes back hundreds of years. In this class we will break down the parts of these letters and build them up.

We will start with the basics of script lettering and go over its structure. We will talk about building up the letter and incorporating ornamented leaves. We will go over how to draw scrolls and leaves and then practice putting them into letters.

We will briefly talk about lowercase letters as well as monograms. This will be a fun class and will be a great style to add to your bag of tricks!

This class is suitable for all levels and artists of all backgrounds, not just calligraphers!

About Skyler

Skyler Chubak is an über-talented young lettering artist from Salt Lake City. While unique in appearance, being heavily covered in tattoos and preferring quirky clothes, he is more old-fashioned in his art than one might think.

His work is largely influenced by turn of the century penmen, engrossers, glass gilders and embossers, sign writers, engravers, letterhead designers, and letter carvers. He has made it a priority to study from the best living artists in these fields as he brings a his own touch to a very traditional craft. He has traveled the world both to study and to teach.

REGISTRATION FOR THIS CLASS IS CURRENTLY CLOSED.
